6 Steps To Spiritual Enlightenment-Words From Spirit

spiritual enlightenment
I sat down at my computer this morning to write out a blog article on Acceptance. Instead, what came out was automatic writing from my guides who wanted to share their views on spiritual growth and ways to not only grow your spirit, but how you can take 6 step towards spiritual enlightenment. Below is what they had to say. Typos were corrected afterwards, and breaks were made for easier reading.

“Whether or not you know it, you are all spiritual beings, fully capable of self love and love for others. You are far greater than you give yourselves credit for, and so hold yourselves back. You must let go of your material humanness and allow yourselves to be freer spirits and learn to enjoy the spirit within. It is only in this way that your true selves within can begin to express their all. You are closer to your Creator than you realize, for you are one with the Creator and have its love within you at all times.

To begin your journey, you must understand yourselves, gain greater self awareness and self compassion. How does one do this? Go deep within and allow the spirit to rise. Connect with the inner child, without judgment, and feel its inherent joy. It is this knowingness that allows the eternal within to come to the fore. Without you knowing this, you will stay where you are. But you know you are more and can go much farther. Let this be your beginning.

There is the point of accepting who you are, what you are and how you are. This is empathy, both towards yourself and towards others. Follow your heart here, for your heart will never lead you astray. It is your True North, your North Star. To accept yourself is to accept others. To accept others is the furtherance of your journey. For how can you know others if you do not know yourself first? Open yourself with love and caringly treat yourself to the love that comes from All That Is.

Allow this love to keep you safe, keep you secure and examine yourself without judgment. Then cast that ray of examination to others so that you can begin to understand others likewise. They are just like you, and in fact are you. They are merely reflections of you. Get angry at others and you get angry at yourself. Love others and you love yourself. You are inexorably tied together, one and the same. There is never any separation. You are the whole. Therefore, to accept others is to accept yourself.

By accepting yourself and others, you move to the state of non-judgement. You cast no blame, you cast no opinions, you watch without the attitude you so cravingly desire to pin on others. Let not that desire to cast others in a negative light satisfy your feelings.

Instead, allow your heart to cast its love to others, and you replace your feelings with placid non-judgement. For to judge others is to judge yourself, since we have already started that you are all one. Cast no blame, cast no shame, cast no hard feelings, cast not a cold heart. Instead, allow your heart to be open, accepting, understanding and helpful. You will be surprised at how you feel and how you grow.

Let us now turn our attention to the resultant state you will find yourselves after you no longer judge yourself and others. In your new mind you will begin to find yourself forgiving others and yourself for what errors they make, for what actions they take, for what thoughts they express. You have let go of your feelings or need to cast others asunder, for you now feel you want to offer help and care to yourself and others.

You will find yourself seeking to offer this forgiveness despite what others may have done to you. The more grievous the action, the greater the required forgiveness. When you commit heinous actions do you not wish to forgive yourself and wish you could feel better about what you did?

In that same vein, do unto others what you would have them do unto you. For what comes around goes around. You have heard these sayings many times before. When you forgive others, you can begin to forgive yourself. As such, your spirit begins to rise, for it is no longer held back under the weight of your judgment and harsh reprisals. We find that you are often your own worst critic.

Let us examine forgives in a finer light. What is forgiveness? It is truly the foundation to compassion, for yourself and for others. Compassion is like a mother’s embrace, understanding that her child did something for which they had no knowledge.

Would the mother scold and never forgive and lose all hope and never love her child again? Of course not. In this same way, you must be understanding, accepting, forgiving so that you can offer your compassion to yourself and others. Allow your compassion to grow like the beautiful flower in the garden. Like this flower, however, it requires much care and tenderness to enable it to blossom.

What does this mother offer her child at all times? She offers loving kindness and pure love, a source of refuge in the storm and a place to harbor the child so it can grow. Loving kindness is the key to your spirit my friends, for without it you may struggle to open the door that leads to greater connection to your highest self.

Begin to offer loving kindness to others, no matter the size, no matter the effort, no matter the scale, no matter the impact. It is merely the effort that counts and the gift that is bestowed. Should your loving kindness affect others, then your own spirit has also been lifted. This is the nature of love. It holds not, it terries not, it wants not. It only gives. In truth this is what you have within, as you are at one with the Creator.

Bless you my children.”

Wow. What a profound commentary from spirit. Truly loving and inspiring, while quite descriptive and guiding. I honestly love it when spirit decides to take the reins and give us their two cents worth. I personally love hearing from them and having them share their wisdom and insight. Now if we can all act on this wisdom, then we'd find we will not only feel tremendously more loving towards ourselves and others, but the world will start becoming a better place. Loving-kindness is powerful. I hope spirit’s discussion helped you in your own way begin to grow. Clearly they are reaching out to each one of us.

Sending you all Love and Light, Chris
