02/02/2020 Palindrome
In numerology, the number 2 holds the most feminine energy of all numbers, it vibrates with the frequency of peace, harmony, and balance. The number 2 is considered also emotional, highly sensitive, deeply devoted, and intensely intuitive. This number asks us to look within ourselves and seek our divine truths. It asks us to trust wholeheartedly and with the utmost faith in ourselves, our intent, and our abilities. In other words, believe in yourself, trust yourself, have confidence.
As a result, we are asked to surrender to the divine energy and to the divine within ourselves. We may feel challenged, we may feel stuck, we may feel as if the world is against us. This is all part of the process, part of the divine plan. The universe is manifesting our dreams as we continue on our path and further evolve our spirit. Recall each of us is an eternal spirit temporarily housed within a physical shell. Every challenge we encounter is a lesson that furthers our evolution, propels our growth, and teaches us what we didn't previously know. By surrendering to this process, we allow the universal plan for us to roll out.
Perhaps what's most important about this palindrome, is the concept of loving yourself. We spend far too much time worrying about others, worrying about what others might think, worrying about the past, worrying about the future, slaving away at our jobs, and spending inordinate amounts of time trying to repair the irreparable. We spend so much time worrying about the external, that we never spend any time caring for ourselves, loving our inner beauty, or admiring the magnificence within us.
It's like the message you hear from flight attendants before a flight when they describe what to do with an oxygen mask in case of an emergency: “Please place the mask over your own mouth and nose before assisting others.”
We can't help others before we help ourselves first. If we have nothing left for ourselves, we'll have nothing left to give others. Therefore we must love ourselves first before we offer our love to others. This isn't to say be greedy or be conceited, but just make sure we have enough fuel in our tanks for both ourselves and others.
Clearly, the universe was trying to send me a sign about this recently. In fact the day before this palindrome, I received a reading from a colleague who gave me a reading in exchange for one that I gave her. We both respect each other, trust each other and want the best for each other, so our readings for each other are wonderful.
She brought through one of my spirit guides, my grandmother, and my mother. The reading and the messages that followed truly packed a punch. So much in fact, that I had tears of joy streaming down my face during the reading, something that I never do. In fact, I'm very slowly allowing my emotions to flow freely, rather than keeping everything bottled up like some macho tough guy. I'm learning this is part of my spiritual growth and development. Anyway, let me describe the amazing session.
My colleague brought through one of my spirit guides, an Egyptian healer, holding a roll of papyrus in his hand. He had heavy black makeup around and out to the sides of his eyes that made them look dark and quite wide, often what many consider to be an ancient Egyptian stereotype. He said that I came here to heal others and that I'm on my path to expand my healing abilities, but I need to heal myself first before I can heal others effectively. I need to look internally, love everything that I am, and therapeutically heal what ails me.
He offered his assistance and suggested I ask other guides and spirits for their help as well, for they are always there to help. He suggested that I put more time and focus on growing my healing, something that I readily admitted I'd paused, though it seems it has emerged through my mediumship. My friend also brought through my grandmother who encouraged me to enjoy life and live life to the fullest. It's ironic that she said this because that's the message I often deliver to many of my clients from their loved ones in spirit, yet I never listen to that advice for myself. “Please place the mask over your own mouth and nose before assisting others.”
Then my friend brought through my mother whom I had been waiting to hear from in a full reading for many years. In addition to seconding my grandmother's suggestion of learning to enjoy life, my mother emphasized the power of our prayers, both for others and for ourselves. She said that prayers are some of the most powerful energies in the universe, as they are thought energies in the form of questions or requests sent with the full power of love. Apparently, all my prayers that I said for my mother to help her in her spiritual journey were clearly heard and forcefully felt, for which she profusely thanked me. She indicated that all her struggles in the early part of her spiritual evolution after her passing, which I knew she was undergoing, were aided by my prayers. As a result, she was able to achieve tremendous spiritual growth and get to a place where all her dreams could come true.
That's when I totally lost it and began bawling like someone had turned on the faucet. The bigger takeaway, however, came when she said I had to start praying for myself. She said I spend a great deal of time praying for other people, but I don't spend any time praying for myself, which is 100% true. I had always thought that praying for yourself was wrong, selfish, or ineffective, so I just never did it. Apparently, it's perfectly fine, quite effective and in fact quite encouraged. Who would have thought? This goes back to the concept above about learning to love yourself. I guess the old saying, "God helps those who help themselves," also refers to those who love themselves.
So always remember, “Please place the mask over your own mouth and nose before assisting others.”
