There’s a place in Devon, England—a quiet parish with a name nearly lost to time: Luffincott.

It holds just 45 residents today, but over 700 hundred years ago, it birthed a lineage. Mine. Perhaps yours too.

This is the ancestral homeland of the Lippincott family, a name once written as Leghygnecoth  or Lovecote. The earliest appearance of the original name is seen in the Doomsday Book of William the Conqueror in 1086. Additional records show that Johannes de Loghincote was granted 100 acres of land in the west of Devonshire by King Henry III in 1243 AD. I was born nearby in London—yet I never returned. Not until now.

After six decades of life in the U.S., I finally claimed my British citizenship, awakened by an inner pull I couldn’t ignore. A spiritual reading years ago hinted at it. My genealogical roots confirmed it. And when I received that passport, everything aligned.
